Duma Key by Stephen King

Edgar Freemantle is putting his life back together after a work-related accident costs him his arm and his wife. He is pulled to Duma Key, Florida where he leases Big Pink (a salmon colored beach house) owned by elderly Elizabeth Eastlake who has a tragic past. A doodler in the past, he decides to take up painting. With a compulsion that can't be explained, he furiously draws and paints. When the paintings and the painting itself seems to have a power that puzzles and frightens him, he turns to neighbor Eastlake and her companion Jeremy Wireman.
