Courting Trouble by Lisa Scottoline

Attorney Anne Murphy is off to the coast for the weekend leaving Mel, the cat, in the care of house-sitter Willa. Awaking to the news that she, Anne, has been murdered, Anne rushes back to the city determined to find the killer by remaining "dead." She soon realizes that this is a job she can't do alone and will have to depend on people she hardly knows. Scottoline does a bang-up job of keeping up the dialogue, the pace and the action.
